Jazz Standard
This was a great show, Henry Butler quite impressive. I just don’t have the date confirmed.

Trey did an acoustic set first, then a set with the band. This venue has no seats and multiple floors where site-lines are limited. It was way overbooked for this show.
This was a really nice weekend in which to enjoy my first three shows at Bethel Woods. For some time afterward, I really dug into the recordings of the shows, which for me served as an excellent overview of the phish repetoire around this time. Many excellent videos were posted on line of the shows… the versions of “Roses are Free” and “Timber” are two of my favorites from this run, that I enjoyed seeing and hearing many times over.
A 3-show run at the site of the original Woodstock festival. Excellent Phish performances covering a wide range of their material. See my other comments in the N1 post.

Sachal is a wonderful jazz singer with an interesting background who I first saw at the Saratoga Jazz Festival in 2006.
Part of a whole group of BRIC shows I saw at Prospect Park during 2011 and 2012.
Friday night (N1) of what was to be a 3-night run, but the other shows were cancelled due to the hurricane. Fans were transported back and forth by ferry to lower Manhattan. By the time the show ended, Manhattan was largely evacuated and it was quite erie coming to the docks on the ferry from the Island, seeing lower Manhattan so dark and empty.
“Dawn of the Dan,” of course we love the early stuff.
The folks who originally purchased a 3-night pass got one Governors Island show and all three rescheduled Randall’s Island shows out of the deal when the hurricane caused two of the first shows to be cancelled. So I saw four shows with one ticket stub.
The Royal Scam album was played in its entirety at this show. I saw the same classic material performed two years later, in 2013.
This was a free concert at the old Gill Farm, which has since changed ownership. To access the farm, concert-goers parked in town and shuttled over together by school bus. At the farm there were snacks, farm goods and a big air gun shooter that shot pumpkins high in the air.
Photostack Below: The photos show the scene around the Farm that day, the members of Levon helm Band arriving, the concert and the band afterwards, with Levon waiving from his vehicle while holding his dog in his lap. It shows how red his hand was from playing.
Fundraiser for Ulster County following Hurricane Irene, the effects of which in upstate New York were the worst from a hurricane since 1972.
Below: Band members Larry and Theresa were featured on the cover of Ulster County magazine.
I am glad a saw Bernie a couple of times in the years before he passed away. The last few years have been awful for losing many of the great keyboard players including Joe Sample, Ray Manzarek and Allen Toussaint. Bernie also played with Talking Heads when I saw them in 1982.
